The Animated Incal
At one point Moebius and Jodorowsky were gonna blow all our damn minds and make The Incal (which is coming out in hardcover form thanks to Humanoids) into a feature length animated movie. Holy shit right? Well they lost funding and never completed it. Boo to that brotha'! What remains are some segments that were used to garner interest and funds into the project. Hot damn I wish this had been made!
Hayao Miyazaki did make a NausicaƤ under Moebius's influence so I guess that kinda counts as an animated Moebius film. And you've seen Moebius's influence in everything from Alien to Tron to Little Nemo in Slumberland. Don't forget the Fifth Element... shhh. But, wow, this animated version of The Incal would have been such a fun trip. If you want to learn more about Mr. Giraud I suggest you follow. This guy has been finding everything Moebius related and throwing it up on his tumbler and I couldn't be happier. Indulge.
